The problem with switching is they all work the same way by binding the D2 receptor and haldol is the one that binds it the strongest making it the most effective----I would just increase the dose before switching because you'll be getting a less effective med if you switch to anything else---the only reason to change would be side effects----of course there is clozapine but that's for later if you have at least 2 med failures----

ive had at least around 10 med failures
