LOL! That's hilarious. It sounds like you and your mum have a good relationship.
My mum cracks me up too. She infuriates me sometimes, but she's funny (without even trying).
About a month ago, she had my admin assistant track me down at the office for an urgent call. She and I have had the conversation (many times) about the fact that I'm very busy at work and she should only call if it's an emergency. (She called the office one day to ask me if she should use almonds or pecans in her baking and that's when I put my foot down.)
Anyway, I ran to the phone, thinking something horrid must have happened to dad, and here's how the convo went:
Mum: "Honey, what's the name of that European lingerie store on Dresden Row?"
Me: "Mum! You scared the life out of me. I thought this was an emergency!"
Mum: "Well, it IS an emergency! I'm not going to drive all the way to the city without calling the lingerie store to make sure they have my size!"
Me: "I have to go to a meeting. Love you."
She managed to find the name of the lingerie store -- by calling back my assistant and making her look in the Yellow Pages. Mum's glad she went to the lingerie shop, btw. She found out she has been wearing the wrong bra size all these years. It turns out she's a 32H! and she had to pay $300 for a nicely-fitting bra.
