Hi glitter, I'd say that there was a real reason .........not "just you", not just you being "irrational" but depression would you say? And depression can be/is very real. But that's not to say it can't be overcome with help/support.
And yes, theoretically some things should be simple, but depression can change all of that and make things so much harder. So don't "beat yourself up"/blame yourself/think it's your fault if you're struggling to do/can't do x, y or z. Just try to do whatever you can, right now. And make sure you're giving yourself credit for what you manage, because it's not at all simple, not not at all easy is it?
And let's get rid of the "pathetic", yes?? To be having to cope with what you're coping with doesn't make you pathetic!! The same as it's going to be pretty hard running with a broken leg, isn't it?
So back to.............it's a bit/a lot more than a try to "snap out of it" thing, yes? so could you talk about the way you're feeling to someone close to you, or get some (more?) help from a doctor/pdoc or perhaps a helpline?? Either way though remember you're not on your own in this, we're here for you. And if you want to talk more...........
