Yes definitely call your therapist. If you can pay for one session out-of-pocket, just ask for a separate invoice for that visit -- then you can pay it without ever telling the insurance company about it at all and they won't bother you.

I'm sure your therapist didn't intend for you not to call if you had a family crisis. I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.
