Body and mind are connected. When we experience trauma, our bodies hold the memories. Our tissues are in a state of inflammation. So, yes I think there is a link. That does not mean that you did not experience a reaction to the anesthesia but maybe because of the state your body was in to begin with, you were set up for it. Last year I had something similar happen. I had been through a very difficlt time and was depressed and stressed out. I then had an allergic reaction to the dye they use for MRI contrast. It was a frightening incident but I have no doubt that it was connected to my state of mind at the time. So, the physical reaction was real and so was my PTSD. So, in a way, maybe your T is right. Maybe antidepressants will help, by letting your body let go of the inflammation. But keep up with you primary care physician as well. Mind and body can't be separated.
