It really sounds like you are struggling with a lot of stuff right now. I would be totally overwhelmed by that myself. And your supervisors sound like they really don't have a grasp on much beyond their clients (if even that). Sadly, it a trend among community service agencies. The best people tend to move on, leaving the the not-so-great ones to rise to the top.
I'm sorry to hear you are having difficulty breaking into your chosen career. Sadly, it's very difficult to move out of some niche's. I had a lot of trouble switching careers despite education, experience, and proven know-how. Please don't give up on it though. It IS possible (albeit very frustrating).
