Hey, typically Tegretol/Trileptal is only effective 50% of the time...I'm surprised your doc didn't firstf all change Geodon to Latuda and try that and then add Lamictal instead of Trileptal since Lamictal is the most effective anti-convulsant for bipolar conditions and is weight neutral as well. Btw, typically the AAP, Latuda, helps manage the daily mood swings and is remarkable for bipolar depression...where the Lamictal is just suppossed to keep the lows from occuring close together over time. If you take 600mg of Lamictal than it has anti-depressant properties. Lithium is another incredible med for bipolar if you ever need another option!
