I got this voicemail on my cell phone yesterday....it was strange because it never showed up on my log as receiving the call that left the voicemail.....but the voicemail was definitely THERE. Guess they must have messed with the incoming phone number so it wouldn't show up......ANYWAY.

I verified this was a scam by checking online the phone number they left to call......this was the message that the guy left:

"this it was Kevin Shaw badge ID number 594982. I'm calling you from tax audit department of IRS. The reason behind this
call is to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice
against your name regarding tax evasion & tax fraud. So before this case is downloaded in the county court house & before there is an arrest warrent issued on your name through the county sheriff officer, I want you to call me back on the direct hot line number to the IRS Headquarters....that is 888-393-2430. I did repeat the number that is 888-393-2430. Now if we do not receive a reply from you then be prepared to face the consequenses. This is a time sensitive & critical issue......so have a blessed day."

When I first heard it I actually laughed at how stupid this person was......first off, for the past 7 years I have been personally dealing with the IRS because of a tax mistake that my H had made on MY inheritance & just got it all paid off....but the IRS doesn't work the way this guy suggested.

First off, the IRS sends out a letter.....which my H chose to totally ignore...it wasn't until 10 months later that they sent out a second letter which I intercepted & for the first time found out what he had been hiding from me......so they don't send anything to the local sheriff department.....besides, any tax fraud jail time is NOT done in a local jail....it's done in a federal jail like the situation that happened to Martha Stewart......& there are hearings & everything that go on way before anything like that could ever get to that point.

This guy has just started doing this again it sounds as just over the past few days, it's been reported, they same line that was left on my phone.......including LOL...."have a blessed day".....the IRS definitely NEVER says "have a blessed day"....that in itself should be a dead give away for the scam.

Anyway, just wanted to put this out here incase anyone else gets a phone call like this......The IRS web site said to file a report with TIGIA, & the FTC......so I filed a report with both agencies. Sounds like some have actually given out their financial information...exactly what they are count on while most catch it as the scam it is.......

So warning, warning.....if you get a message stating anything similar.......it's definitely a scam & don't call back the number....it's definitely NOT an IRS number which always ends in -1040.

BEWARE.....& be sure to "have a blessed day" LOL.....it's always blessed when we don't get caught by a scam.
