So sorry to hear this

I can relate ... I'm a programmer, too, and in the past, I have worked from home exclusively (even though I live across the street from work) because of my social anxiety and lack of self-esteem.

Unfortunately, people (nons) are generally ignorant about our illness, and are unable to understand our issues.
