"Simon Feels Victimised. The boxer says he feels there are people with vendettas who are out to harm him in any way. He was reacting to a front-page story in a local daily that he was fined for speeding in Swakopmund last month.
Simon said he would not have cared about the placing of the story anywhere on the newspaper’s pages had he refused to pay the fine or had he driven away after being stopped by the traffic police. An irate Simon said some high profile people are constantly caught for speeding or drunken driving but their stories do not make the front pages.
Simon was astonished that people were blowing such a minor issue out of proportion. Simon added: “the defamation of character only makes me stronger and stronger as I belief in myself."
