Sabrina, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I can't believe she sneezed on you!!! That is beyond rude... it's disgusting! I hope you didn't tip her. She should have excused herself when she had the sniffles and blown her nose away from you... and if she felt the need to sneeze, she should have excused herself, sneezed elsewhere and washed her hands before coming back to work on your hair. You're supposed to feel pampered and fresh and clean when you leave the salon.
When I went to my first hair appointment after recovering from severe BPPV and agoraphobia, I was terrified. I kept telling myself I would be fine. I had extremely long hair at the time. I told the hairstylist about my inner ear problems and my extreme dizziness, so I expected him to be sensitive to that. He wasn't, though. He made me STAND UP for half an hour while he sat in a chair and cut my hair! I had had waist-length hair for 15 years, and no hairstylist had ever made me STAND UP for a haircut! Halfway through it, I was so dizzy and nauseous and feeling faint. I had to go to the bathroom and lie on the floor because I felt like I was going to throw up. Needless to say, I did not tip him and I never went back to him.
I now go to a hairstylist who is sensitive to my condition. I get very dizzy when my head is tipped back, so I wash my hair at home first and she just uses a spray bottle to dampen my hair before cutting it... and she never spins the chair. She moves around the chair, rather than moving me. When I go in for a colour, there's no way to avoid having to tip my head back in the basin, but my stylist is very sensitive. She rinses as quickly as possible and has me sit up while she applies the shampoo, conditioner or removes the foils from my hair.
Going to the salon should be a positive experience. I hope you can find a new stylist who is more sensitive... and not so DISGUSTING!
