I really like your idea of having someone else tend the fryer when you feel like this. Sometimes the best we can do is to steer clear of temptations.
I'm sorry this is such a terribly difficult time - wish I had better ideas to share.
Is there something else you can do to deal with some of the feelings - like beat a pillow, rip paper, go for a walk, write in a journal, or listen to some favorite music? I don't know what works for you. Those are some things I have done.
