Oh, I don't think it's a case of Virgin messing me about, but more of the Internet not being available where I am; I think they just didn't have the rights of the land because BT seems to have taken over where I am.
Yeah, it's temporary, and I've definitely taken that into consideration; this is one of the problems I have at the moment. The contracts are usually at least 12 months. I can do that, but only IF they'll transfer the connection to the next (more permanent) place, but then that place could be anywhere, and so there's no way to know whether I could take the 'net with me, thus ensuring a possible cancellation fee that I'd sooner avoid.
I don't think I'm going to get cable here unless it's with BT... it seems like BT is my only hope, but they seem to be useless.. I do not trust anyone who will do work on someone's house, without consent, then charge 800+ quid to take their stuff out. I miss VM. xD
I'm fine with a phone line, if needs be, it's just not a great option, because I then have to pay for a completely unnecessary phone line which is usually around £15 line rental, or so I'm seeing. :|
