In case anyone is curious about the resolution that was reached; I decide it would be best to end the friendship.

It was a very difficult conversation but it was good to have an honest talk. My friend did reveal that she was still holding on to hope that we would be together. This hope does not make for a healthy friendship.

I care a lot about her but I had to let her go to better care for both my family and myself.

Since the conversation, I feel a weight lifted but also great sadness for the loss of my friend.
