Hi canders!

I definitely think the therapy is a great idea if there's any way you can swing it. $50 is a good price though I understand it may be hard in your particular financial situation. But give it a shot! It could be SO helpful in working through the past. And it sounds like you might be able to swing it if you're careful with money (or maybe try the part-time thing if you can find something).

I totally understand about not telling the parents. I'm 36 years old -- long since left home -- and I still wouldn't tell my parents about therapy. Because I already know the only question my mother would ask is "How much does it cost?" And if I told the truth, I'd hear no end of how stupid I was to waste such money and how would I let people brainwash me into doing that and why wouldn't I just go to a church pastor and save my money etc. etc. I don't want to hear any of that, so I never talk about it to them. And yet I think it's the absolute best money I've ever spent, and I'm thankful every day that I found a wonderful therapist who helps me.

I really hope you decide to do therapy. It's especially great that it's someone you already knew and liked. Go for it!
