When I was learning to walk, I walked on my toes. This caused the achilles tendon in my right leg to become shortened. I can't walk heel first on that foot, never could. It's not a huge noticeable thing, but in my shoes, the heel wears out on the left foot and the toe wears out on the right foot.

I never had any surgery on it. I think when I was a kid I had a bit of physical therapy but I can't remember. Sometimes it aches. Not very often, but a couple of times it has ached very badly. One time stands out when I was maybe 10, it hurt so bad I couldn't sleep, so I got up and played with my toys at 3 AM until it stopped aching.

6 days ago it started aching but this time it hasn't gone away, except for short interludes where it's lessened. The pain is in my achilles tendon and radiating up the back of my calf. I went to the doctor today but it wasn't hurting at the time and I described the wrong location for the pain. I told her it was around the ankle and up the side of my calf, but I must have been wrong because now it's hurting again and it's definitely around the achilles tendon and up the back of my calf.

The doctor said to take tylenol and wait for it to go away. It keeps me awake at night. I'm not sure what else to do.

Underneath this skin there's a human
Buried deep within there's a human
And despite everything I'm still human
I think that I'm still human
