Psychiatrists don't always know or maybe it's just that they are not so intimately aware of the side affects of a medicine as well as the patient. So, he started increasing the Seroquel again - last night it went from 200- 400. I take it as an anti-psychotic. When it was doubled to 200, it knocked me out so bad that, even though I was awake with my eyes closed, I couldn't talk or move. My 14 yr. old nephew was being goofy and making fun of me. I wanted to laugh, but couldn't. He could have put underwear on my head and tomato sauce on my face, and I'd have been helpless!

Anyway, I didn't know that an increase in Seroquel only made it longer-lasting. I want to change to something else, again, but my psychiatrist is soooo slow and gradual about making changes. Smart I guess, but it takes a lot of patience for me.

Sorry for rambling. Is that ok to do on this thread, when it relates to the topic?
There is always variation between people but there is like 90% histamine occupancy at 25 mg and while it bumps up to 95 or so with increases it's a really minor change in terms of kinetics but the levels stay up so you get longer effects and can sleep through the night...so there are minor effects in intensity so of this depends if you're taking extended release or not too. I can't precisely remember....it's in stahls essential psychopharmacology....but obviously your personal experience is more important than number is a book but past 300 it doesn't really do much more for sleep to my knowledge.
