I know exactly what you are going through. I used to mix like that all the time. (Though now my meds have me relatively stable.) I agree with Tipper. Stay away from self-medicating as this particular state will only worsen to an extreme extent if you do that. Unfortunately I cannot offer any real good advice to make help make it go away other than seeing a pdoc (if possible). I used to have to just let it run its course or wait until the energy left me enough to where I would fall asleep (often on the floor or wherever the pacing had led me). That is no fun. But we're all here if you just need to vent or whatever.

Actually, I can offer this advice (as silly or pointless as it may be): invest in a punching bag (again, if possible) even just a small one... or one of those inflatable punch toys. Sometimes letting out that agitation physically helps, if even only a little bit - but obviously you don't want to hurt anyone or destroy your stuff. (Of course this will only be good for when your irritability thrusts you into action as opposed to being inactive.) When I was in high school, my parents were in denial about my mental state, so a psychiatrist was out of the question, but they got me a punching bag and it helped get me through a lot of these mixed episodes.
