Fear not! I was also one of those kids who wasn't afraid of anything....until I went to the movies with my dad to see "The Day the Earth Stood Still". This was the original version with Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal, and was released in 1951. A classic!

By the time it hit the silver screen in our little town, I would have been 7 or 8 years old.

The scene where Gort...the giant robot...opened the visor on his head and shot a death ray that melted tanks, artillery pieces, rifles and all the weapons scared the living crap out of me ;-) I put my hand over my eyes, and then peeked between my fingers.

I'm sure your son will one day meet his Gort, and trust me...he'll be scared ;-)
