So..yea. It was a multilayered issue.

This all sounds a very strange way for her to behave

Surely if it's an 'in joke' between people, they can't then choose to get the hump when the other person joins in?
I mean, what did she say to you when she had the talk with you the next week? How did she have the brass neck to say your participation was going too far? When she had been the one teasing you all along?!
If I am understanding this correctly - it's almost bullying, as far as I'm concerned.
