a mixed episode is what finally made me break down and see a doctor... I coped for years and years without one. I was so irritable and short-tempered, it was awful. I was using Cannabis to self-medicate, which worked well, but wasn't good enough. Lamictal straightened my mixed episode out very effectively. (though it was very trying to wait patiently until i finally got up to 200 mg)
