I am sorry you are feeling this way...i can definitely relate. I usually email the Samaritans. They help me. I would personally never check myself into a mental health hospital. One, in the US, people make suicide attempts the night before and are released by morning without any kind of real resolution. If they did keep you, it will probably not be long enough to have any kind of real benefit. I get severe suicidal thoughts and at times i am not sure I will make it, but I try to remind myself that it is the disorder talking. The fact that you are thinking of going to the er tells me you still want to live which is good! Try writing down the thoughts that go through your head in this state of mind so you can discuss them in therapy.
