I have always wondered the same thing. My psychiatrist is watching me for a mood disorder but so far I haven't been diagnosed as I don't meet the full criteria. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and major depressive disorder. I've always wondered if I was diagnosed ADHD because I was showing manic symptoms and diagnosed major depressive disorder because I was showing the depressive symptoms of bipolar disorder. I would love to hear others' thoughts about this topic.
