Doing things to distract myself can sometimes help me to cope with negative and anxious thoughts and feelings. So maybe it's not so weird what you are doing? Many people use distraction techniques. I've heard of people wearing rubber bands around their wrists and snapping them to break a train of thought for example. Mindfulness and focus on deep breathing is sometimes helpful to me. Good Luck!

Well, it does work a little, every time I do something random, my mind goes blank for a second, and then "Where was I?", so it does help. I wish I had productive ways though.
