In 3 hours I have to stand for my defense of my masters—probably one of the most stressful things I will do in my lifetime…and I have just had the worse possible crisis at work. I work with doctors so it is confidential, so I can’t go into detail….but, this is probably the worse thing that could happen to me. No, I am not blowing this out of proportion. I am very realistic in saying this will cause me a serious reprimand or possibly the loss of my job.
My supervisor got on me for not delegating work—so I delegated work—but I did not follow through and make sure it was done correctly. The person doing it had been doing it for 19 years—I trusted her. Well, she was just let go a few weeks ago and we are starting to discover a few things that are problems. I dropped the ball, I let a MAJOR piece of paperwork fall through the cracks. I have already been told, yes, this was my responsibility. The only thing I can do is wait to see if I have a job in the morning…or whenever, this is settled.
A while back there was a post that said, “when it rains, it pours” or something like that…might even have referred to a rainbow after the rain. I don’t remember. Right now, it is pouring for me and there is no rainbow in sight…maybe a tornado or two.
