Yes, it's possible to be deeply sad and feel happy for other people at the same time.
And sometimes we have to wear a mask to get through the day.
Often the deep sadness is from something that has happened to us in the past and somehow got stuck.
I'm glad to hear you are seeing a therapist, it can be tough going but stick with it, it's worth it.
