Hi, I moved here from Peru and I understand how isolating it can become to be so far away from family, especially the culture shock. I moved when I was 15 but I still remember how awkward it was to find someone in common with teenagers here in the US, especially when I didn't speak any English and had no idea about anything or how things work in the US. I have family in Buenos Aires and they tell me how tough things are over there especially with the economy going through so much over there. Hang in there, people in L.A. are very helpful especially among latinos, I always find so much acceptance from people of other latin american countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua, you name it. You can find new friends in L.A., I know I have, is just more intimidating.
Best wishes
