Yeah, I feel a bit like this about birthdays.
My parents never bothered much about them. I always wanted a party like other kids, but never got one. I remember a kid at school moaning at me, saying I went to her party and never asked her back. But my mother wouldn't do anything like parties, she wouldn't let people in her house let alone let me have a party!
