I can't think of anything that one could wear as a teenager and not wear as a thirty year old, or fifty year old - it's one of those limitations that society puts on us. It's kind of like so many people cutting their hair in their 40's and 50's. My mom hates my hair long - she said I looked homeless! But other people like it, and most importantly I like it. The two things that guide me as far as limitations go on what I will or will not wear, are the same as they would be if I were a teenager - I make sure my clothes cover me, and I prefer not to show too much cleavage, (except when I'm around my husband), and that's mainly because I'm married. I don't want to give men the wrong message, plus most people are like me - they don't want to see other people's cracks, etc. And I'm too big to be wearing tights with a short t-shirt - how big or small you are should play a factor in what clothes you wear, too.
