I was not sure where to put this topic.

I have lived in this apartment for about 5 months now and have not clearly said anything to my neighbor. I had asked ladies at my job who live in this apartment community and they say that they barely hear their neighbors. I believe mine has his bass up so high because there are times I can hear my walls shaking up stairs over my noisy A/C even. Our apartments are two stories high, kitchen and living room space down stairs and bathroom and bedroom space upstairs. Of course my kitchen walls shake more often than upstairs whenever he is listening to whatever.

One time I had to go knock on his door because I woke up at 12:30am. He turned his sound down then.

I know the best approach probably would be to speak to him about the noise. I am not at the apartment quite a bit since it's been Spring and Summer and I've noticed he has been gone from 5pm till the next day several times a week when I work till 4pm and don't come back till around 4:30. But on my days off it bothers me quite a bit. I was wondering if sending a letter in the mail to him would be a good idea too. Or going straight to my landlord. How would you handle this is my question?
