I haven't read all of it yet cos I struggle with academic reading, but it has been my experience. I was on a course with a load of people who want to become clinical psychologists and work in mental health, and they were making fun of a guy in their halls who talked to himself, calling him sz. And I asked why they didn't want him around if they were ok working with people with sz, and they said that it's one thing working with MI people, but another thing living with them! This was around the time I was diagnosed with SZA and I just thought that they were complete hypocrites and not the kind of people we need more of in MH! And it's just frustrating cos they're the people that get really good grades and will probably get on the course, while I'm not so good but actually can empathise with people struggling and I'll probably never get a doctorate...
