I guess most, but not all, jobs with carnivals require heavy lifting. You could just tell them you have some back issues, but are in need of money. Particularly the small shows, which are already short of help usually, would probably take you up on it. Often they have to work all night and move to a different town by morning. It's not a time to be picky or ask a lot of questions.

One word of warning, if you end up around South Carolina/ Savannah, you'll want to avoid Magic Midways. I won't go into details. But the show owner's reputation is legendary. Not in a good way.
