I was in line at McDonalds the other day, and right in front of me was a police officer, gun at his hip. With our laws that allow everyone else to have guns, the police *have* to have them. I just wish our country would get rid of the wholesale "right" to have guns. Guess there's no going backwards tho. unfortunately. It's like the mindset here is that having the 'right' to have a gun means we can protect ourselves. But in countries like England, the ordinary citizen has no need for a gun, because gun ownership is strictly regulated.. and even police there don't have to have guns. Imagine that. They apparently only use guns for highly trained forces that are used in special circumstances. That all just sounds so good to me. Tasers don't generally kill people.
