I have been on SSRIs for a very long time now. I'm a college student, but I don't drink often. One specific time that I did, I unfortunately had a lot. Part of the reason for that was that I wasn't feeling the effects of it. I didn't feel incapacitated or drunk in the least, but with the amount of alcohol I had I definitely should have. The friends I was drinking with were drunk and had the same amount as me. I know that alcohol is not recommended when you are on anti-depressants, but I did a little research and found that it isn't recommended because being on an anti-depressant can increase the effect of alcohol. I seem to have experienced a decreased effect. Anyone know why this is or have a similar experience?
