A different brand might be? Latex, but a different brand - there might be variation among brands. Just guessing.

Also, the sense of smell is very volatile. On one of the mothering forums I used to frequent in the early 2000+ was a woman who lost her sense of smell. I forgot why.
The olfactory sense is the least understood, most mercurial, and most mystifying of them all. One thing that can happen is that you smelled something with a very strong smell and were sort of "shocked" by it and rendered less able to smell, and if at that moment you tried latex condoms, their scent was below your threshold.

Imagine eating something very spicy. Afterwards, for a while, you won't be able to distinguish fine differences in tastes - it would be all or nothing.

In any event, this is a positive development since latex remains the safest material for condoms.
