I just wanted to say that there is a significant distinction between psychopaths and sociopaths. Psychopaths may be aware of their actions - however, their mi still has a significant impact on this. Sociopaths, on the other hand, are manipulative, plotting, and think of themselves above everyone else. A psychopath may see themselves as a literal god who needs to hurt other people because it gives him or her an imaginary power. A sociopath will think of themselves as god-like, or swimming in a pool of goldfish while being "other", more cunning, more powerful. Traits of a sociopath closely mirror those with antisocial personality disorder, but a sociopath is often put in a more criminal category while someone with APD has a disorder like others with mi.

A sociopath can usually get whatever they want because they know how to pull the strings, they can read people very easily, and their emotions are often lacking, therefore hindering their ability to empathize.

So, in reality, it would be the sociopath plotting every move, knowing what you're reaction will be long before you even feel it. A psychopath might have an inclining and push buttons, but they are often portrayed as someone who's mental health is completely out of their control.
