fortunately not all employers are like this. you have to think about whether you want to work for a company that keeps people in limbo like this and does not communicate. I work for a non-profit and we may take a day or two to interview all the candidates and then we choose somebody that same day after the interviews are over and call them immediately to let them know they have the job even if the job doesn't start for a few weeks.
