my only suggestion is to contact her/your treatment providers they will be able to explain to you why you/she has not been diagnosed with DID, but rather other mental disorders with similar symptoms and why they call you an imaginary friend rather than a DID type alter (an other post by your user name states your/her treatment providers said you didnt have DID and that you are called an imaginary friend which is why I worded my reply this way)

I know it can be so confusing, the other diagnosis doesnt mean you dont exist. just that you dont fit the diagnostic criteria for DID at the time the diagnosing was done.

one thing you/she can do is if you feel the present diagnosis is wrong you can request an updated diagnostic evaluation for dissociative disorders. thats a whole mess of tests... physical, mental and academic that can accurately diagnose you/her and then you will know whats what and get the appropriate treatment.
