Abilify was the first medicine prescribed to me, but for some reason my insurance wouldn't cover it and there was no way I could afford it. Zyprexa has been a miracle drug for me, it has helped bring the positive symptoms to a point where they can be controlled, it has helped to stabilize my mood, and in conjunction with the Prozac, it has helped the negative symptoms like depression especially. Mind you it's not a cure but it has helped me alot. Side effects: weight gain is the biggest one, I gained 50 pounds in a year on it. Sedation was also one for me, but after taking it for some time that went mostly away. Another benefit is that there are generics for it available, so it is cheaper aswell if you don't have insurance.
