I can't carry on a normal conversation with anyone with it like that.
If you are encountering someone being "ugly" there are a couple of things you can do. You can copy part of the chat and send it off to a moderator/administrator to assess if it's against guidelines and/or you can put that member on ignore so you won't see what they are posting about anymore. It has worked wonders for me in the past (before I was a Team member).
Also, the scheduled chats that are put on are never on subject. I go in there to get support and to talk about what is bugging me with whatever the chat is supposed to be about. I never get to do that either because the conversation has nothing to do with what it is supposed to do with. Is there something we can do about this? I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything, I'd just like to be able to talk to someone. I have no friends here in my town and I came here looking for support and friendship.
As for any of the scheduled chats go, if you enter the chat and it is totally off topic, you can message the chat leader and ask about discussing the topic of the chat, and/or you can copy the chat and send a copy to John25 who is in charge of the chat leader group, explaining what your transcript is and why you are sending it to him.
Sometimes in the scheduled chats, it's easy to get off topic. It's possible that when it happens, if no one is complaining about it, they just don't seem to get back onto the chat topic. So, speak up, be heard (in a nice way of course) and let's hope for the best!
