I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books about schizophrenia... I was thinking more along the lines of about the illness or coping with it rather than memoirs.

I've read:

Schizophrenia: A Very Short Introduction - a slightly more academic book that pretty much covers everything from history, theories, to diagnosis & symptoms etc.

The Complete Family Guide to Schizophrenia - I thought this might be useful for seeing the illness from another perspective, particularly with how to cope with it. Although there were useful sections, it read a bit too much like a wordy self-help style book.

There was some other book I came across that I was considering which has supposedly been the definitive go-to book for like 20+ years or something. I can't remember what it was anymore.
