They have similar attributes though sometimes being a self -advocate is knowing what YOU need and taking care of YOU and not depending on others to do so for you. Not to worry... good to work on but a skill that you can develop. You are worthy of ending therapy on your own terms...not your parents. Self advocating would be asking for those extra visits. This is just a reference for future thought.
In order to self-advocate, you often need to be assertive.
