As far as an encylopedia like work there is e fuller torrey's surviving schizophrenia-----I'm not a fan of torrey but in this case his opinions are thoughtful and well balanced. There is not much on coping with it---some of the cbt type guides may be better for that-----

I just finished this last week and would also recommend it. I am not schizophrenic, but am very interested in schizophrenia just because I experience psychotic symptoms from time to time. I found it to be a pretty elucidating book and well thought book.
