*sighs* Can someone help me settle this silly debate a friend of mine and I are having?
She insists that healthy adult humans can hold in their urine indefinitely; that for such people, voiding their bladder can only be a voluntary choice and that they can never lose control from holding it in / not having access to a bathroom for too long.
I'm insisting that no human being can hold it in for as long as they want, unless "as long as they want" falls within their limit; and while limits vary, we all have one. At some point - voluntary or not and no matter what techniques you use - it will come out. We simply cannot store/carry an UNLIMITED amount.
We also had this same debate about holding one's bowels before this. So she thinks any adult who has an accident must be experiencing some mental/physical ailment, fear, intoxication, or just didn't have enough will. I think, for anyone, it can mean any of those OR that time and toilet availability simply weren't on their side that day.
