What's gonna happen on my first visit? What questions will be asked, what will we talk about and what will it be like?
Hello,
The psy md will take your whole history-meds, what worked/not worked, side effects, family hx, telationship hx, work or school hx, how you are feeling-mood, energy level. Just telk them all of it because you want him to be able to help you adjust meds when needed. Also, pdoc really do know the psych meds better than many gps***some gps are afraid of psych meds and will give only minimal doses/then wonder why its not working for you!! I am VERY sensitive to any type meds, for example if side effect is nausea, I will vomit like 20x/day for 2wks, so my psy md knows we have to always try baby doses wirh me and if I say side effect is too much-she listens/if side effect is that bad to me...it doesn't improve in 3wks while I get used to med.
