Hey guys,

I posted a little about myself and situation in the "introduce yourself" part of this forum. Anyways, I'm not sure if this is right place to post this (so I'm posting it in several places), but I had a question/need some advice.

I'm from Mercer County (Central West NJ), and I'm interested in finding a place to live so I can start getting help and getting better .. I'm indigent and homeless, and I don't have health insurance yet (applied for Medicaid a few months ago but I still haven't been approved ). Do you know of any type of housing like transitional, sober, halfway, TC (therapeutic community), ANYTHING that you can recommend? Or not recommend? Or any type of inpatient dual rehab/hospital? I think maybe going to someplace inpatient may be better for me (mainly for the detox plus they don't let you leave unless you have somewhere to go), especially if I am going to have to live in sober housing because I am on methadone and I highly doubt any of the houses take people on methadone. I've heard of this place called Integrity House that house a program for females on methadone .. has anyone here been there? Also, I'm looking for an environment for people who are dual; one of the more popular TC's I talked to (they don't take people on methadone, they have to detox first) told me they wouldn't be able to accept me until I'm mentally stable, and I know as soon as I'm totally off the methadone I'm going to end up having some type of breakdown, so I'm going need therapy for that as well, not just for my substance abuse issues.

Basically, I'm look for a recommendation or "review" from a place that you've been.

I still want your recommendation/review on ANY place, But on Friday think I was actually accepted to a short term (up to 60 days) program called Turning Point which is in North NJ. I say I think I was accepted because when I was talking to one of the admissions lady on Friday, she did say there were beds available and I could get in by next week, but she said something about one of her coworkers being out of the office that day. She did fax some paperwork to me and my counselor at my methadone clinic to fill out, which we did and sent back. I haven't heard back from her since even though I left her two messages, but the receptionist says she's always busy. Hopefully she'll call me or I get in touch with her Monday morning because my last night here at the EISS shelter is tomorrow night, so I really need to find a place by Monday or maybe Tuesday to move in Tuesday evening/afternoon because I have court Tuesday afternoon for an arraignment. But if the place I decide to move to is close enough for me to take the bus, I'll move Monday (Turning Point is too far, so I'll have to go Tuesday).

And then yesterday I went with my methadone clinic to this huge, awesome recovery walk in South Philly, and the right word isn't "fun", but it was pretty awesome and I received ALOT of information like brochures/pamphlets, business cards, phone numbers, websites, etc. on residential services and referral services that help people find something residential. Most of these places are in PA/Philly, but most of them help people out of state/city in my situation (homeless, indigent, dual)! I have alot of places to e-mail and call now.

That's about it on me .. Just wanted to give you guys a little update .. see ya
