Today I went with my methadone clinic to this huge, awesome recovery walk in South Philly, and the right word isn't "fun", but it was pretty awesome and I received ALOT of information like broshures/pamphlets, business cards, phone numbers, websites, etc. on residential services and referal services that help people find something residential. Most of these places are in PA/Philly, but most of them help people out of state/city in my situation (homeless, indigent, dual)! I have alot of places to e-mail and call now, but I'll do it tomorrow.
But yesterday, I think I was actually accepted to a short term (up to 60 days) program called Turning Point which is in North NJ. I say I think I was accepted because when I was talking to one of the admissions lady on Friday, she did say there were beds available and I could get in by next week, but she said something about one of her coworkers being out of the office that day. She did fax some paperwork to me and my counselor at my methadone clinic to fill out, which we did and sent back. I haven't heard back from her since even though I left her two messages, but the receptionist says she's always busy. Hopefully she'll call me or I get in touch with her Monday morning because my last night here at the EISS shelter is tomorrow night, so I really need to find a place by Monday or maybe Tuesday to move in Tuesday evening/afternoon because I have court Tuesday afternoon for an arraignment. But if the place I decide to move to is close enough for me to take the bus, I'll move Monday (Turning Point is too far, so I'll have to go Tuesday).
That's about it on me .. Just wanted to give you guys a little update. Good night!
