I work in vocational rehabilitation.... a lot of people who have schizophrenia do very well for themselves.... and can make out quite nicely at work. There are some who have been diagnosed with bipolar who have not been so lucky. It really depends on the level of functioning. You cannot say that if you have schizophrenia life is over, if you have bipolar, then it's not, because that's not really serious. Both disorders are to be taken seriously.
