I don't have the answers, but I do know that there is some family you are better off not having than having in your life. Mind you I know that's cold comfort and doesn't fill the hole or take away the pain. I am hoping that perhaps you both have friends you can lean on to ease the pain, and am glad that you can at least find a level of acceptance and compassion here on PC.
