I find it almost impossible to hide from friends, let alone from a partner, ... then again, if he's completely clueless about this stuff, then I suppose it's not too surprising. Perhaps link him to stuff online... ease him into the information. I wager that it won't be easy. He will have to understand that it is a very real problem, and not just a mad 5 minutes. I would also recommend getting professional support, if you are not already doing so.
